With NL Acoustics integrated into FLIR Solutions (a Teledyne subsidiary), it felt like the right time to close this chapter and look toward new horizons.
2022
We gained interest from Teledyne, which made a majority investment in 2022. I continued as CEO, guiding the company through sustained growth and strong profitability.
2015

CEO and Co-Founder

NL Acoustics
We founded NL Acoustics, a B2B hardware and software company making acoustic cameras, in 2015. Early on I worked on a wide variety of hands-on tasks around the product, development and sales. As we grew, I shifted from hands-on work on the product to building a compact organization of about 50 people, and keeping clarity on the direction of the company.
2014

Doctoral Candidate

I worked part-time on modeling acoustic responses as constrained optimization problems (also Robert worked here), but the growing momentum of NL Acoustics eventually demanded my full focus.
2013
First discussions with Jonas. Why should you need a PhD to use acoustic cameras, something that could be accessible to anyone? That meeting sparked NL Acoustics.

I started freelancing in software and acoustic consulting - both to pay the bills and to fund early work on Noiseless Acoustics (later renamed NL Acoustics). It taught me a lot about the basics (and challenges) of running a business.

I built a custom CMS that was eventually rolled out to 100+ construction sites internationally. Later on, managing this system brought some of the first revenue for my early entrepreneurship career.

I consider this my first "real job" relevant to my studies and career. Before this job, I'd worked in convenience stores, a hamburger joint, a biomedical research institute, and as a substitute teacher.
